For the time being, there seems to be no end in sight for the war in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed and oil prices remain high. Nevertheless, last month was actually quite good for stocks. Emerging market stocks, in particular, performed well, with a return (in euros) of 13%, followed by Asian stocks with a return of 12%. It should be noted, however, that stocks from these markets were also punished the hardest in March. Strong earnings figures from Asian chipmakers also played a role in the positive return.
