April was anything but boring for the stock markets. Much of the turbulence stemmed from the uncertainty surrounding the trade tariffs imposed by U.S. President Trump, particularly targeting China. On April 2nd, Trump announced import tariffs on nearly every country in the world, only to follow up in the days after with 90-day pauses for some nations and exceptions for certain products, like smartphones. Apparently, pricier smartphones are still a step too far. In line with these chaotic announcements, financial markets were also quite volatile.
