September 2022: ‘nowhere to run’ (Dutch)

Anyone who followed the time-honored investor wisdom 'sell in May and go away, but remember to come back in September' this year was disappointed in the second part. All asset classes delivered negative returns in September. European listed real estate was again the negative outlier, with a monthly return of no less than -17.3%. The combination of rising interest rates and falling share prices is hitting listed real estate twice: in the 'stagflation' year 2022, this asset class has fallen in value by 44% so far.
